Overview

Founded in 1898, Peking University (PKU) is China's most prestigious university and one of Asia's oldest modern universities. Consistently ranked as China's #1 or #2 university alongside Tsinghua, PKU placed #14 globally in QS 2025 — the highest rank for any Chinese university. Located on the former Yannan Garden in northwest Beijing, PKU's campus is one of the world's most beautiful, featuring classical Chinese gardens, the historic Weiming Lake, and pagodas. International undergraduate: apply via PKU International Students Division. Graduate: apply online. Chinese language proficiency (HSK) or English-medium programs available. Deadline: December–March for September admission.
