Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), founded in 1900 by industrialist Andrew Carnegie in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the world's premier university for computer science, artificial intelligence, robotics, and software engineering. Ranked #55 in QS 2025, CMU's School of Computer Science (SCS) is #1 in the world by virtually every measure. Admission Process

Common Application with CMU supplement. Early Decision: November 1 (strongly recommended for CS). Regular Decision: January 1. SAT/ACT required. TOEFL/IELTS for international applicants. CS acceptance rate ~5% (one of the most selective programs in the world).
